Hiya guys

Any experts out there with the knowledge of how to get a Weston 75 Heli engine to run!

Full stop!

Compression is out of this world!

Any thoughts always gratefully received.

Ade

how bout throw it at the old man at westons and get an engine that has not been tuned to within an inch of its life like a thunder tiger and before you take the piss i bet you could take one out the box and it would run straight away and it will last the same as the west, the west will sieze and the thunder tiger will wear out but cost less ha ha ha.

hope this helps mate

Well the problem I have is...

I blew up the Thunder Tiger (that will teach me to use Cool Juice on it!)

And the 75 was donated by a very kind member to help me out. Beggers can't be choosers.

I have never been a fan of Westons stuff, but figured, benefit of doubt due there.

But thanks E

Ade

Hi ya Ade (GOMADE) The 75 is a very highly compressed engine . Some guys loosen the glow plug so that they can spin them over then retighten when started. Not ideal . Others use a powerful starter and power it with 24v . That usually spins them ok . Once run-in properly then they should be ok but when new they lock and squeak at TDC until hot . Once you start it run it fast for a tank full and dont idle too slow as it will damage the bottom end. Persevere with it and it will get better. If it locks really bad at TDC then  take it down to Alan at Weston as I have heard of a couple of engines having a fault with the seating of the cylinder causing them to  lock.

Well lads......perseverance and all that!

She is running as sweet as a sewing machine!

So if I need to sew anything whilst flying.....I have the right engine:D:D

Thanks go to John Cox for donating it in the first place!

Cheers Jon
