Martin, I painted the roundels and markings on this little free-flight Hawker Fury, using the method described in Phil's thread. I might get around to finishing it one day:D
I'll take a picture of the tools I use.

Thank you Martin, but it's not that good in the flesh, so to speak:D. As my teacher would write on my school report, "could do better" I hope you are going to have a go at painting the markings on your B17?
If you want to see real craftsmanship, have a look at Mike Smiths models, especially his DH 10, it's fantastic!
I'll do a quick photo demo on roundel painting over the weekend.
